I'm ready for my new family!

If you're looking for the most gorgeous Hound ever, here she is!! Dixie has not had an easy start to her life, but in a few short months she has learned to trust people and adapt to the simple joys of being a pet. She belonged to a hunter down south who kept her outdoors before ultimately turning her into the shelter for being a bad hunting pup. One look into her brown eyes and you can tell this girls a lover not a fighter! Dixie is about 4 years old and 50 pounds, she loves everyone but due to her clumsy size she would be best with older children. Her favorite thing to do (other than snacking) is to run around and wrestle with her furry foster siblings. An ideal home for her would have another dog whose energy matches her. (No cats for Dixie as she loves to take chase) After playtime is over its hours of naps and snuggles. She is housebroken and sleeps quietly in her crate overnight and while her foster mom is at work. Previous breed experience is a huge plus as Dixie is a Hound  through and through so she will follow her nose anywhere (including the countertop if she gets a whiff of something delicious). Dixie has recently been diagnosed with a neurological condition called "fly-biting" and is on on anti-epileptic medication, which she will likely continue for the rest of her life. She is so smart and eager to please and just wants a patient family to love and call her own! Dixies adoption fee is $375.
