Home At Last Dog Rescue will consider adoptive families in the North Wales and surrounding areas only. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We appreciate you wanting to bring a dog into your home. In order for us to ensure the right match for the dog and the family, we need you to submit an adoption application.
We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity. You will hear back from a volunteer about next steps. (Please check your voicemails and your emails!)
If you and Home At Last agree that a dog could be the right fit, we will coordinate a time and place for you to meet. Our dogs are cared for in foster homes in the Montgomery County area, and we also hold meet & greet events (hyperlink to meet & greet info page). If your initial inquiry was not an ideal match, we will continue to use your application that is on file; please email info@homeatlastdogrescue.com if you would like to inquire about any additional dog(s).
Once your application review is complete, a Home At Last Dog Rescue volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit . During the home visit, we look for potential hazards for the dog that the adopter may not have considered. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets. Usually if all goes well at the home visit, the adoption will take place right then and there!
