Young Male Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix

Medical hold 2/20*** My name is Maxwell. I am a 1-year-old Lab/shepherd mix.... I was lucky enough to escape a bad situation and wind up in an amazing foster home where I have learned what it's like to be a loved dog! I love playing with my fur-siblings, my toys and taking naps on the couch. My old owner was a male who used to beat me with a belt, so I can be shy around men at first, but once I realize they are nice, I warm right up to them! Me and my foster Dad are best friends, he taught me that men can be cool!! I love love my foster mom, especially when she lets me nap on her and rubs my belly! Just check out my video on Petfinder at: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/37356388. I am housebroken and crate trained. I walk well on a leash, but I do pull when I see a squirrel -- oh man I hope they stop running away and play with me one day!!! I'm working on my house manners (sometimes I like to help myself to treats on the table!) but I'm doing my best to learn how to sit and ask nicely for them instead of helping myself! I promise to be the best dog if you will consider adopting me today.

Ever think about fostering a dog in need? Home At Last Dog Rescue needs fosters! We need volunteers to foster dogs in their homes until permanent homes are found. HAL provides vet care, food, toys. crates, etc. for the dog you are caring for. You provide love, and compassion. If you can’t foster but can help watch a dog overnight here and there, help with transports or events, HAL needs volunteers too! Just email homeatlastdogrescue@yahoo.com for more information on how you can make a difference in a homeless pets life!
